simple programmable logic device (SPLD)

Programmable Logic Devices (PLD) are divided into Field Programmable Logic Devices (FPLD), Simple Programmable Logic Devices (SPLD) and Complex

Programmable Logic Devices (CPLD), which can be programmed on-site at the customer.

Programmable Logic

Devices Simple Programmable Logic Devices are simple in their logic design. They consist of an AND gate that feeds an OR gate. The differences are whether one or the other logic or both logics are programmable. SPLDs can be programmed using a variety of techniques. Via the fusion technique, where a micro-fuse is melted by current flow and a logic is broken in the process, via the fabrication of a logic, or via the memory-based techniques used in Programmable Logic Devices (PLD).
