simple API for grid applications (OGF) (SAGA)

Simple API for Grid Applications (SAGA) is a programming interface standardized by the Open Grid Forum( OGF) for the development of distributed applications for grid computing or cloud computing.

The focus of SAGA is on job handling and monitoring, file transfer and management, and distributed orchestration mechanisms. SAGA is intended to provide a unified platform for heterogeneous computing infrastructures and middleware. Furthermore, SAGA shall provide a stable interface for distributed applications, frameworks and tool development environments, as well as functional blocks that facilitate the design and implementation of higher- level abstractions.
