The Tetra address corresponds to the Individual Tetra Subscriber Identity( ITSI). In addition to the Mobile Country Code( MCC) and the Mobile Network Code( MNC), it also includes the 7- or 8- digit Short Subscriber Code( SSI), which assigns mobile radios to a private or public service.

The first digit of the SSI code can be used to identify whether the radio is a terminal belonging to customs (1xxxxxxx), the fire department (2xxxxxxx), the police, an ambulance service or another service. The other six or seven digits marked with xxxxxxx are determined nationally.

A distinction is made between the Individual Short Subscriber Identity (ISSI) for an individual radio, the Group Short Subscriber Identity (GSSI), which is used to identify a call group within a radio network, and the Alias Short Subscriber Identity (ASSI), which is used to address external subscribers by means of alias addresses.
