service independent building block (IN) (SIB)

Service Independent Building Blocks(SIB) can be used to create services in intelligent networks(IN) at a development level.

During service creation, prefabricated building blocks, the Service Independent Building Blocks, are combined to form new IN services. These services with their Service Features( SF) can be changed and varied as desired.

The information processed by a Building Block can originate from the fixed networks( PSTN, ISDN), it can be input parameters for a service, it can be service support data or execution- and call-specific information.

There are many services that can be built from Service Independent Building Blocks, such as freephone, announcement services, televoting, authentication services, subscriber location, location-independent switching, and so on.
