Server Side Include (SSI) is an extension of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) for web servers for the dynamic generation of web pages
. With Server Side Includes HTML pages can be designed variably. The commands available in Server Side Include are used to execute the web pages before they are transferred to the web browser. For example, contents of paged files
or variables can be automatically inserted by the server after the corresponding page iscalled.
The successor technology of Server Sides Include is Active Server Pages (ASP).
