serial RapidIO (SRIO)

Serial RapidIO (SRIO) is a serial variant of RapidIO.

Serial RapidIO is a high-speed interface with data rates of 1.24 Gbit/s, 2.5 Gbit/s, and 3.125 Gbit/s that connects systems with boards, high-speed components, the DigitalSignal Processor( DSP), and switching matrices in point-to-point( P2P) connections. The SRIO interface uses the SerDes process and operates with 8B/10B coding.

The physical layer of SRIO defines the handshake operation between the connection partners and the error detection by means of cyclic block checking(CRC). Furthermore, the physical layer defines the priority control of the data packets.
