Sensor analytics is statistical analysis performed by sensors used in manufacturing, computer systems, transportation, or medical care. The goal of sensor analytics is to detect anomalies that can be used to predict future events and prevent errors
and failures. Sensor analytics can be descriptive analytics, predictive
prescriptive analytics, and can be used to detectfailures in manufacturing equipment, alarms in medical intensive care
units, oroverheating in computing equipment
. In descriptive analytics, the development and current status of the key performance indicator (KPI) is recorded; in predictive analytics, the possible further development of the KPI index is determined; and in prescriptive analytics, the optimal analysis is calculated from the two previously determined KPI values.
