Sensor-actuator interfaces (SAI) are field devices in industrial automation that either acquire signals from sensors or provide control signals for actuators
. Sensor-actuator interfaces are located at the field level and are designed for the corresponding fieldbuses. Sensor-actuator interfaces form the interface
between the sensor for thedata of the measuring points or for the control data
withwhich the actuators control the actuators.
Sensor-actuator interfaces can work wired or wireless; for example, with Bluetooth, ZigBee or other radio technologies.
