semi militarized zone (SMZ)

A semi-demilitarized zone (SMZ) has the same functions as a demilitarized zone (DMZ), but restricts access to certain services. In addition, policy rules can be applied to a semi-demilitarized zone to allow access only to a certain number of public users.
