Security Accounts Manager(SAM) is a Windows service that takes effect during login.

The SAM Manager is a database under Windows that contains user account information, such as the user groups to which the users belong, the user names and passwords. The SAM data is stored in a registry on the hard disk.

If the user data and passwords are entered incorrectly, the user will not be able to access the computer system. The system displays an error message indicating the incorrect entry. The SAM Manager is intended to contribute to security and make unauthorized access to data and resources more difficult.
