A secure container is a self-contained software package that is isolated from other software packages residing on the same server. This technique is also known as sandboxing and ensures that attacks or malicious code do not interact with other applications.
Secure containers allow employees to separatedata from company applications from private data. Therefore, secure containers lend themselves to mobiledevice applications and mobile device management (MDM). The security aspects for containers are also a high priority in industrial deployments, as such applications are often divided into services and microservices and are not allowed to interact with each other. Container security eliminates potential attack points as much as possible and uses Role-Based Access Control(RBAC) to restrict permissions. Most container security strategies work with this technique by restricting attacker access to hosts and other back ends from compromised container instances.
