secure channel

A secure channel is characterized by the fact that the data transmitted on it is secure, i.e. the data stream cannot be changed, intercepted or manipulated.

The technology for secure transmission channels is based on encrypting the data using cryptographic processes. While Secure Channels must meet the conditions that the transferred data is resistant to eavesdropping and tampering, a Confidential Channel must meet the condition of no eavesdropping, and an Authentic Channel must meet the condition of no tampering.

Secure channels exist equally in network technology and data communication, but also in computer technology. In Windows environments, for example, a secure channel can be formed between a workstation or server and the domain controller in one and the same domain or in different domains.
