screended foiled unshielded twisted pair (SF/UTP)

In the SF/ UTP cable, all conductor strands are jointly surrounded by a double shielding consisting of a foil shield and a braided shield.

Hence the designation SF, which stands for Screened (braided shielding) and Foiled (foil shielding) according to cable nomenclature. As with the other two variants, S/UTP and F/UTP, the twisted pairs are unshielded. The conductor strand also contains the uninsulated ground wire, drain wire. The outer matel is made of polyvinyl chloride( PVC).
