Screen sharing and desktop sharing are techniques that allow participants in a web conference to show remote participants or their documentation on their display. Each participant can play back the screen display of other conference participants on their display or in a browser window.
With screen sharing, the screen can be divided into many windows in which individual participants of an online meeting or documents and presentations are displayed, depending on the applications.
The moderator of such a meeting can access the screen of the meeting participants or, in the case of group work, that of a customer or support employee. With desktop sharing, certain meeting programs can also be used to access the customer's devices and change their settings. Screen or desktop sharing is therefore ideal for web conferencing and online workgroup meetings. Since all participants work remotely from each other at their own workstations, corresponding meetings are much more efficient, they can be realized at short notice and do not cause travel costs.
