Screen sharing and desktop sharing are techniques that allow participants in a web conference to show remote participants or their documentation on their display. Each participant can play the screen display of other conference participants on their display or in a browser window.
The moderator of such a meeting can access the screen of the meeting participants or, in the case of group work, that of a customer or support employee. In desktop sharing, certain meeting programs can also be used to access customer devices and change their settings. Screen or desktop sharing is therefore ideal for web conferences and online meetings of work groups. Since all participants work remotely from each other at their own workstations, corresponding meetings are much more efficient, they can be realized at short notice and do not cause travel costs.
