screen diagonal
The diagonal of screens is referred to as the screen size. A distinction is made between the visible screen size and the non-visible screen size hidden by the monitor frame.
For televisions, the screen size is given in centimeters, for monitors in inches. For example, a 26"monitor has a screen diagonal of 66 cm, while a 75" monitor has a screen diagonal of 190 cm. Since the aspect ratio of standard monitors is 16:9, which corresponds to a ratio of 1.78:1, the screen size can be calculated from the screen diagonal using the screen height and width.
Based on a 26" screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9, the screen width is 58 cm and the screen height is 36 cm, and for a 75" screen, the width is 166 cm and the height is 93 cm.
