The term Scatternet is used in Bluetooth for the interconnection of several piconets in which routing
is possible. The interconnection of several piconets can take place via masters and also via slaves. However, it must be ensured that a master cannot act as such in multiple piconets. A master in one scatternet can be a slave in another piconet. Spatial expansion of piconets is possible via a scatternet, so that devices at a greater distance can be integrated into the network.
