The frequency bands for satellite communications are defined by the International Telecommunication Union( ITU).

Their scope may be worldwide or refer to specific regions defined by the ITU.

The satellite bands apply to broadcast and TV transmissions, including DigitalVideoBroadcasting( DVB). The C and K bands are available for these transmissions.
