routing area (RA)
- InIPX networks, Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX), the RoutingArea( RA) is administrative domains that all have the same area address. The Routing Area (RA) provides user access to services in the network layer of the OSI reference model.
- In General Packet Radio Service( GPRS), the Routing Area is the area in which a mobile station can move without updating the Serving GPRS Support Node( SGSN). An SGSN can serve multiple routing areas, and this is part of the stay area( LA).
