routing and addressing group (ROAD)

In 1991, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) founded the Routing and Addressing Group (ROAD) with the aim of reviewing the address structure of Internet addresses with regard to the addressing space for Class B addresses, in relation to the growth of routing tables on the Internet and the limits of the address space for the IPv4 protocol. In 1995, RFC 1955 was produced as a document for further proposals.
