routing and addressing group (ROAD)
In 1991, the Internet Engineering Task Force ( IETF) founded the Routing and Addressing Group (ROAD) with the aim of reviewing the address structure of Internet addresses with regard to the addressing space for Class B addresses, in relation to the growth of routing tables on the Internet and the limits of the address space for the IPv4 protocol. In 1995, RFC 1955 was produced as a document for further proposals.
