return to zero code (RZ)
The Return to Zero Code(RZ) is a message transmission codethat is essentially equivalent to Non Return to Zero( NRZ), except that the high signal returns to 0 after the half bit interval.
The low signal is not encoded. The clock synchronization of the receiver can be done by the switching edge of the encoded high signal, but it is not safe for long bit sequences. Also, with long 0 or 1 sequences, the DC component may change. The inverted version of the Return to Zero code is Return to Zero Inverted( RZ-I).
