resource admission control subsystem (NGN) (RACS)

The Resource Admission Control Subsystem (RACS) is a subsystem that handles access control at the transport level of Next Generation Networks( NGN).

The RACS subsystem takes care of the access authorizations by configuring the network access with the user and authorization data. In addition to the user data, the access control defined by the RACS is based on the profiles of the users and policies of the network and service operators. Thus, for individual communication services such as television or telephony, the information provided by the network operator is used by the RACS subsystem.
