residential Ethernet (RE)

The activities of the RE (Residential Ethernet) working group, founded in 2004, are aimed at home networks; at the transmission of time-critical and multimedia data.

The objective of the activities is full duplex transmission at 100 Mbit/s without packet loss, bandwidth management as well as -reservation, transmission of synchronous and asynchronous data, time synchronization and guaranteed delay times.
