release on demand (SAFe)

Release on Demand means release on demand. This process forms the last aspect of the four-part Continuous Delivery Pipeline( CDP). The other sub-aspects are Continuous Exploration( CE), Continuous Integration( CI) and deployment with Continuous Deployment( CD).

With Release on Demand, new functionality is introduced into production and released to customers immediately or incrementally as needed. The three sub-processes that precede Release on Demand ensure that new functionality is continuously prepared and verified in the production environment. To reap the benefits of agility, the right timing for release is important, as the end user can directly use the new features and functionality. The release can be demand-driven and can also be time-limited.
