registered user
A distinction is made between non-registered and registered users ofwebsites. Any non-registered user can register and thus becomes a registered user.
Registered users have logged into a website, chat or blog using their identity or a pseudonym. Depending on the concept and website, registered users go through a certain registration process, during which some personal data must be disclosed. These include the user name, the e-mail address and a password. After logging in, registered users can access the website's services or participate actively or passively as lurkers in chats or weblogs.
In general, registered users have some advantages over non-registered ones. This refers to services, downloads or active participation. The relation between active and passive registered users can be seen as a measure of the visitors' interest in the website.
