The term real-time data is related to the fact that the data is evaluated and calculated in real time, i.e. immediately after it has been collected and without any noticeable delay. In the evaluation and processing of real-time data, there must not be any major latency periods
. Other explanations of real-time data define a time window in which the data must be available to the user. Since corresponding time windows are system dependent, each real-time system
would have a different real-time. There isno exact specification of the time delay that may be incurred in the processing of real-time data. The
provision and preparation of real-time data is significantly shortened by the available computing power and processing capabilities, which contributes to the reduction of delay times. In addition, there are physical limits, such as the propagation speed of electrical, optical or radio signals, which cannot be undercut and which must be included in the consideration.
