queuing delay (ATM) (QD)

Queuing Delay (QD) are delays that can occur due to queuing, namely when an ATM cell has to be buffered. This can occur when, for example, certain resources were not available for cell forwarding. The buffering can also be the result of overbooking of a physical connection or due to a higher priority service application.
