quasi error free (QEF)

The Quasi Error Free (QEF) status is used in the context of Digital Video Broadcasting

(DVB) for a quasi error free reception. The QEF value defines a threshold value that indicates whether the system is working or not. The QEF value is specified as a maximum of one non-correctable error per hour at the input of an MPEG-2 decoder. The bit error rate (BER) is about 10exp-10 to 10exp-11.
