quality of experience (QoE)

Quality of Experience (QoE) is a measure of the quality of a customer's experience with a particular service from a provider. QoE is based on subjective experience values, in contrast to Quality of Service( QoS), which can be objectively measured and contractually defined.

QoE can be used to evaluate any service: Information conveyed by a call center, actual data throughput versus theoretical, the ease of use of a Web browser, a cable operator's channel offering, etc. It is about the holistic, user experience-based evaluation of a complete system performance, software and services.

Quality of Experience expresses subjective and objective customer satisfaction with regard to the provider. It is therefore user-specific. One user may have had a good experience with a service, whereas another user may have had a negative experience. The different experience ratings are strongly affected by factors such as efficiency, ease of use, reliability, security, cost and some others.
