Binary units and their valences

A quadbit represents 16 states (`2^4`) between 0000 and 1111 and can represent the valences of the hexadecimal system.

The quadbit is used for example in 4B5B coding and quadrature amplitude modulation( QAM) to increase the data rate. If two bits are combined into a group, this is called a dibit, three bits a tribit and 8 bits a byte.
