pulse charging method
The pulse charging method is a variant of the constant current charging method. In this charging method, the batteries are charged with constant current that is pulsed in pulse width modulation( PWM).
By controlling the pulse width, the pulse charging method can be optimally adapted to the different charging phases - main charge, recharge and trickle charge. During the main charge, the pulses are very wide and decrease in the post-charge phase. During trickle charging, they are extremely narrow, since only the outflow due to leakage currents has to be compensated. In addition, the charge voltage and the state of charge can be measured during the pulse pauses.
