public WLAN (PWLAN)

Public WLANs (PWLAN) are public wireless LANs that are available to users in public placesor other public facilities such as exhibition centers, airports or train stations.

Users have greater mobility and flexibility via Public WLANs, and can also communicate at higher data rates and lower costs than via mobile networks such as GSM, GPRS, UMTS or Long Term Evolution( LTE).

The prerequisites for operating a public WLAN are simple logins, roaming across multiple providers, guaranteed security, and a transparent billing procedure.
