progress indicator (ISDN) (PI)

The Progress Indicator(PI) information element displays the events that occur during the connection setup in the B channel ofISDN. For example, when the connection is not completely switched and no end-to-end connection is switched.

In the Q.931signaling protocol, the progress indicator is represented by four bits. Each bit combination stands for certain network configurations.
