The Private Platform as a Service concept is prioritized when the customer does not want to store and manage sensitive data on a Public Platform as a Service, but wants to maintain it in its own data center.

Private PaaS is tied to strict security agreements and data protection requirements, where the company can integrate some of its own hardware and software and maintain it itself. The Private PaaS developers are responsible for their own programming, testing, maintenance and service of the integrated systems. The applications to be developed are mobile apps, micro apps and microservices.

Private PaaS is more flexible than Public PaaS and the developments are more easily portable.
