priority queuing (PQ)

With priorityqueuing (PQ), the queuing is determined by previously formed priority classes. Individual queues are created and managed for the various service classes ( CoS). Each queue is assigned a priority that determines when the queue is processed. Queues with a high priority have a shorter waiting time than those with a low priority. If there is a high volume of traffic with high prioritization, the queues with low priority are only used to a limited extent. This can be remedied by prior traffic shaping.
