priority code point (802.1ad) (PCP)
Priority Code Point (PCP) is a Tag Control Information(TCI) data field that is inserted during VLAN tagging. The PCP data field includes three bits that indicate frame priority.
The eight bit values can be used to set priorities between low - value 1 - and high - value 7. The priority value 0 corresponds to the best effort. By setting the priority values, different services can be prioritized, such as real-time transmissionfor video or voice or low- latency transmission.
