precise point positioning (GNSS) (PPP)
Precise Point Positioning (PPP) is a method used in the Global Navigation Satellite System( GNSS) for exact position determination.
The position accuracy achieved with the PPP method is a few centimeters if a single GNSS receiver can receive an International Terrestrial Frame (ITRF) as a correction signal.
In contrast to the Differential Global Positioning System( DGPS), the PPP position determination does not work with several transmitting stations, but uses a precise time signal in addition to the orbit data to calculate the exact position.
