power cycling (PC)

Power cycle or power cycling is the switching on and off of a device.

Corresponding switch-on and switch-off processes may be required when an error occurs, a crash occurs, during updates or during new installations. In this way, preset configurations can be reinstalled or updates can be included in the configuration. Power cycling can also be used to reset modems or other network components.

Computers have the function of rebooting for the power cycling function.
