polyimide (PI)
The plastic polyimide(PI) is a temperature-stable thermosetting plastic used in electronics.
Polyimide is used as an insulating material for cables or in printed circuit board technology as a base material for flexible printed circuit boards. Flexible, copper-clad multilayer printed circuit boards with prepregs can be pressed together from polyimide film.
Polyimide is a high- performance plastic with the DIN/VDE designation 8Y. It is characterized by heat resistance and good insulating properties. Polyimides require temperatures of 350 °C to 390 °C for curing.
