point-to-point radio system

Point-to-point radio in license-free frequency bands is an interesting alternative to microwave radio that requires a license and is suitable for wireless point-to-point connections in the access and metro area. For this application, which requires a line-of-sight link, the RegTP has released the license-free frequency bands around 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

Such PP radio relay links can operate at transmission rates of up to 1,000 Mbit/s and bridge distances of up to 80 km. LAN extensions ofEthernet networks up to Gigabit Ethernet can be transmitted via corresponding microwave links and data traffic can be handled via E-transmission interfaces.

License-free PP radio relay can be used by medium-sized companies as a broadband fixed link and is a cost-effective alternative to wired fixed links. The RegTP has released the frequencies between 2.40 GHz and 2.4835 GHz in the ISM band and the frequencies between 5.150 GHz and 5.350 GHz and between 5.470 GHz and 5.725 GHz.
