phase vector (phasor)

The term phasor is derived from phase vector and is a complex value representing the amplitude, frequency and phase of a sinusoidal signal.

Phasors of different phase angles

Phasors of different phase angles

Phasors show the dependencies of the three independent factors, from which the frequency can be excluded, since it usually refers to both the amplitude and the phase. Thus the model reduces to the amplitude and the phase and shows their interrelation. The angle of the phasor reflects the phase angle, the length of the phasor its amplitude.
