phase array (PHASAR)

PhaseArray (PHASAR) or Arrayed Waveguide Gratings(AWG) is an optical component built in planar integrated technology for multiplexing or demultiplexing optical wavelengths.

The phase array is characterized by the fact that the phases of the individual wavelengths are constant during multi- channel multiplexing and demultiplexing. According to the process, phasars operate with optical fibers of different lengths that compensate for the phase shifts at different wavelengths.

Phasars operate without electrical energy and belong to the construction elements of phonetics.
