To prevent the tracks and other sensitive areas of printed circuit boards from being tinned during wave soldering, these areas are protected by a peel-off lacquer or a cover foil. The layout for the peel-off lacquer is calculated by a CAD system during PCB manufacture and is available in Gerber format. The peel-off lacquer is thermally cured and protects the tracks against the liquid solder.
