TV.Pay radio is a private radio programme for which the listener pays a monthly fee or pays per broadcast. The broadcasts can be listened to
inreal time or accessed on a time-delayed basis. They are encrypted and can be received with set-top boxes. As with pay TV, a Common Interface
(CI) is required to receive pay radio. Pay radio programs are broadcast as distribution services and should be of greater value to the listener. Since the target groups are often very limited, the costs of production, editing and broadcasting should be recouped through the fees.
