pattern recognition
Pattern recognition is based on image recognition. Pattern recognition is based on the classification of patterns with which they are divided into classes. The computer evaluates the classified and stored data of the different patterns and compares them with stored reference patterns.
Capturable patterns include images, graphics, photographs, surfaces, textures, x-rays, as well as texts, fonts, and acoustic patterns. In this context, optical character recognition( OCR) and adaptive pattern recognition( APRP) should also be mentioned, which can be used to recognize graphic and text patterns.
The application areas of pattern recognition include biometrics with fingerprint recognition, face recognition, iris recognition and speech recognition, radiology and handwriting recognition. But also production, logistics and automotive technology with traffic sign recognition and pedestrian detection.
