parallel optical links (POL)

Parallel Optical Links (POL) are high-speed short-haul links consisting of multiple parallel optical fibers. For the POL links, which are suitable for distances of up to 300 m, there are special multi- channel components as transmitting and receiving devices. For example, a 12-channel link and a data rate of 2.5 Gbit/s per single mode fiber, i.e. a total of 30 Gbit/s, can be transmitted via the parallel links.
