Panel-Link is a signal transmission methoddeveloped by Silicon Image and standardized by the Video Electronics Standards Association( VESA). It is based on the TMDS protocol (Transition Minimized Differential Signalling) and is used in digital interfaces such as the Digital Visual Interface( DVI).

Panel-Link is used to connect display units, viewers, monitors, LCD displays, plasma displays and LCD projectors to personalcomputers, notebooks, DVD drives or PDAs.

Panel-Link is a simple interface for many graphics standards: from Video Graphics Array( VGA) to Super-VGA( SVGA), Extended Graphics Adapter(XGA) to Super-XGA( SXGA) with a resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 pixels. The Panel Link interface consists of four double lines for the signals of the primary colorsred (R), green (G) and blue (B) as well as for the clock signal, which is used for synchronization. The signals are transmitted digitally at the interface using the TDMS protocol.
