panel control

The system control is a central function of the Windows operating system via which own hardware and software components, connected peripheral devices, program updates or display and operating functions are installed, managed, configured and uninstalled according to the application.

The system control forms the configurable basic concept for all basic functions supported by the operating system, security aspects, energy options and all multimedia inputs and outputs.

All parameters for the drivers contained in the device, for the output devices and the input devices can be configured via the control panel, from the display to the real-time clock to the power management. Whether monitor, mouse, keyboard, printer, speakers, network, scanner or digital camera, all components can be configured via graphical menus. Each individual component, such as the mouse, is configurable in many parameters such as the button, the double- click speed, the display of the mouse pointer or the movement speed. Or the keyboard, where the character input speed, the blink rate for the cursor or other parameters can be changed.

The Control Panel is about managing security-related programs and components, and many optional settings, such as those for voice input and output, telephone or modem connection, Internet and folder options, language options, and options with regional expression. It's about the user interface and thus the setting of the menu bar, the status bar and the task bar and other function buttons that can be activated in the display. The control panel can be found in the Start menu under Settings.
