page mode (PM)

Page Mode (PM) is an older, rather slow access method for memory devices, which was replaced by Fast Page Mode

(FPM). Page Mode was used in Random Access Memories (RAM) and in Dynamic RAMs (DRAM) and has a rather short CAS latency, Columm Access Strobe (CAS), which is about half the RAS latency, Row Access Strobe (RAS). Page Mode has become obsolete and has been further developed as a fast access method, Fast Page Mode (FPM).
