overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a characteristic value that can be used to indicate the productivity of production facilities.

The OEE value is given as a percentage and expresses how productive the production processes are. Overall equipment effectiveness is calculated from the three factors of availability, performance and quality. Here, availability is specified as the time in which the production equipment is working and material is available for production. Availability is reduced by equipment downtime and times when no material is available. Output is then calculated by the number of units produced compared to the number of target units. And quality is the percentage of products produced without defects.
